Flyer Consulting offers a 1-semester mini-course for first-year students that introduces them to our work, client practices, non-profits, the consulting industry, and more.
Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with Flyer Consulting team members to learn Excel, project management, public speaking, and client engagement practices used in our marketing, business development, and technical projects. Throughout the mini-course, they will be working in groups to analyze and then present a comprehensive deliverable for a simulated client.
Students will register for the class by filling out a non-competitive application. This opportunity is open to all first-year students on a first-come, first-served basis. The class is exclusively held in the fall semester each year and meets 1 night per week for 8 weeks starting in October. Time and dates will be announced in the early fall.

The Flyer Consulting Intern Program is the first step for members new to our organization to learn all of the practices and skills needed to work on their first client engagement the following semester. Throughout the Intern Program, students work in teams to complete 3 data-driven case studies. Each case study allows interns to conduct research and implement a solution for a simulated client.
Each week, training will focus on a different aspect of our work from our marketing, business development, and technical solutions to project management, professional communication, client engagement, and critical thinking skills. Members of the Flyer Consulting team will be collaborating with interns to deliver focused trainings on both hard and soft business skills, and dive into systems and topics such as Tableau, Excel, data science, and more.
Intern Program applications are open to sophomores and juniors at the beginning of the fall semester. In the spring semester, applications are open to sophomores and first-year students. Following the application is a 2-round competitive interview process. Interns are chosen from this pool of applicants and then begin the 8-week Intern Program that semester.
Over the last several years, Flyer Consulting has made growth of our organization a priority as we see demand from clients in the community and scale the management of our board to run more projects each semester. We have seen significant growth in the schools and majors we hire consultants from. We have expanded our recruitment outreach efforts into the School of Engineering and majors within the School of Arts and Sciences such as international studies, human rights, math, and economics.
